INSTRUCTIONS:
THIS FUN FAMILY CARD GAME IS PLAYED WITH THE YUCKY LUCKY YOU! CARD DECK (108
CARDS), A.K.A. UNO (BAD NAME - HA HA). THE IDEA IS TO BE THE FIRST PLAYER OR
TEAM TO RID YOURSELF OF ALL YOUR CARDS. BUT, WHEN YOU'RE DOWN TO ONE CARD IN
HAND, YOU HAVE TO INFORM THE OTHER PLAYERS BY CALLING OUT "YUCKY LUCKY YOU!"
OR ELSE THEY CAN CALL IT ON YOU AND YOU GET SET BACK BY HAVING TO DRAW 2 MORE!
PLAYERS:
YOUR TEAM VS. THE COMPUTER. (WE KNOW THAT WITH REAL CARDS 2-10 CAN PLAY, BUT
SINCE THERE IS NO WAY THE COMPUTER CAN HIDE ONE HUMAN PLAYER'S CARDS FROM
ANOTHER, TOMMY'S YUCKY LUCKY YOU! WILL PIT ONE HUMAN PLAYER OR TEAM, YOU,
AGAINST THE COMPUTER IN A 2-PLAYER GAME). YOUR CARDS ARE DISPLAYED AT THE TOP
OF THE SCREEN, THE COMPUTER'S AT THE BOTTOM.
THE DECK:
THE DECK CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING CARDS:
76 NUMERAL/COLOR CARDS (1 ZERO CARD AND 2 EACH OF ONE THROUGH NINE CARDS IN
EACH OF THE 4 COLORS OF RED, GREEN, BLUE, VIOLET -- THAT'S 4 SETS OF 19)
32 ACTION CARDS:
8 SKIP CARDS (2 IN EACH COLOR)
8 REVERSE CARDS (2 IN EACH COLOR)
8 DRAW TWO CARDS (2 IN EACH COLOR)
4 WILD CARDS (NO COLOR!)
4 WILD DRAW FOUR CARDS (NO COLOR EITHER)

DEALER:
THE FIRST DEALER IS CHOSEN RANDOMLY BY THE COMPUTER, AND THEN THE DEAL
ALTERNATES.
DEALING:
DEALER DEALS 7 CARDS TO EACH PLAYER FACE-DOWN. THE REMAINING CARDS ARE PLACED
FACE-DOWN TO FORM THE DRAW PILE. THE TOP CARD OF THE DRAW PILE IS TURNED UP TO
BEGIN THE DISCARD PILE.
DRAW PILE:
IF THE DRAW PILE EVER GETS USED UP DURING PLAY, THE DISCARD PILE IS SHUFFLED
AND TURNED OVER TO BECOME THE NEW DRAW PILE.
FIRST PLAYER:
THE FIRST PLAYER IS THE PLAYER TO THE DEALER'S LEFT (NON-DEALER IN 2-PLAYER
VERSION).
HANDS:
YOUR HAND IS SHOWN AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN, THE COMPUTER'S AT THE BOTTOM.
NOTE THAT THERE IS A LIMIT OF 72 CARDS MAX IN EITHER HAND (HOPEFULLY THIS
WON'T AFFECT GAME PLAY).
PLAY:
ON EACH PLAYER'S TURN HE MUCH MATCH THE TOP CARD IN THE DISCARD PILE EITHER BY
NUMERAL, COLOR, OR ACTION (REVERSE/SKIP/WILD ETC.). FOR EXAMPLE, IF THE TOP
CARD IN THE DISCARD PILE IS A BLUE SEVEN, THE PLAYER MUST PLAY A BLUE COLOR
CARD, OR A SEVEN CARD OF ANY COLOR. IF THE TOP CARD IS A RED SKIP, THE PLAYER
MUST PLAY A RED COLOR CARD, OR ANOTHER SKIP CARD. A WILD CARD HAS NO COLOR AND
MAY BE PLAYED AT ANY TIME, GIVING YOU THE RIGHT TO NAME THE COLOR TO BE USED
AT THAT POINT.
IF THE PLAYER DOESN'T HAVE A CARD THAT CAN BE PLAYED, OR CHOOSES NOT TO PLAY
FROM HAND FOR SOME REASON, HE MUST DRAW ONE CARD FROM THE DRAW PILE. IF HE
CAN THEN PLAY THAT CARD, HE DOES SO, ELSE THE TURN MOVES TO THE NEXT PLAYER.
(IF PLAYER DRAWS, ONLY THE DRAWN CARD CAN BE PLAYED, NOT ONE FROM THE HAND!)
TO ENTER A MOVE WITH THE MOUSE:
JUST POINT THE MOUSE AT THE DESIRED HAND CARD AND CLICK THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON.
TO DRAW A CARD FROM THE DECK INTO YOUR HAND, HIT THE SPACE BAR ON THE KEYBOARD,
OR THE RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON.
WHEN THE COMPUTER ASKS YOU WHAT COLOR YOU WANT AFTER PLAYING A WILD CARD:
TO ENTER A MOVE FROM THE KEYBOARD:
FOR COLOR CARDS:
FIRST ENTER THE COLOR CODE (R,G,B,V). <ROY G. BIV - HA HA>
THEN ENTER A NUMERAL (0..9) FOR A NUMERAL CARD, OR TYPE R FOR A REVERSE CARD,
OR TYPE S FOR A SKIP CARD, OR TYPE D FOR A DRAW TWO CARD.
FOR WILD CARDS:
TYPE "WC" FOR WILD CARD, AND "W4" FOR WILD DRAW FOUR CARD.
JUST POINT YOUR MOUSE TO THE "R", "G", "B", OR "V" IN THE QUESTION AND CLICK
IT. OR TYPE THE DESIRED LETTER.
THE ACTION CARDS:
PLAYING THESE CARDS ON THE DISCARD PILE CAUSES THE OPPONENTS TO HAVE TO ACT AS
FOLLOWS:
SKIP -- THE NEXT PLAYER'S TURN IS SKIPPED. IN THE 2-PLAYER VERSION THAT MEANS
YOU GET TO PLAY AGAIN IMMEDIATELY.
REVERSE - THE DIRECTION OF PLAY REVERSES. IN THE 2-PLAYER VERSION THAT
BASICALLY IS A NO-OP, SO INSTEAD THE CARD WILL ACT LIKE A SKIP CARD.
DRAW TWO - THE NEXT PLAYER'S TURN IS SKIPPED AND HE MUST DRAW TWO CARDS.
WILD - THE PLAYER PLAYING THIS CARD GETS TO NAME A NEW COLOR. HE MAY PLAY
THIS CARD ON ANY CARD, AND HE CAN CHOOSE ANY COLOR, EVEN THE ONE CURRENTLY IN
PLAY.
WILD DRAW FOUR - LIKE A WILD CARD, THE PLAYER PLAYING IT GETS TO NAME A NEW
COLOR. IN ADDITION, THE NEXT PLAYER MUST DRAW FOUR CARDS AND SKIP HIS TURN.
*NOTE: A PLAYER CAN ONLY PLAY THIS CARD IF HE DOESN'T HAVE A CARD IN HAND THAT
MATCHES THE CURRENT COLOR IN PLAY! IF THE NEXT PLAYER (THE ONE WHO HAS TO
DRAW THE 4 CARDS) CHOOSES TO CHALLENGE HIM, THEN IF HE WAS GUILTY OF TRYING
TO PLAY IT WITH A LEGAL COLOR CARD IN HAND, HE MUST DRAW THE 4 CARDS INSTEAD
OF THE NEXT PLAYER! BUT, IF HE WAS NOT GUILTY, THE FALSE CHALLENGER MUST DRAW 6
CARDS INSTEAD OF 4.
THE COMPUTER NEVER MAKES A MISTAKE USING WILD DRAW FOUR CARDS, SO WE LEFT OUT
A COMMAND TO CHALLENGE IT TO SAVE YOU ALL THE DISAPPOINTMENT (HA HA).
THE COMPUTER *ALWAYS* CATCHES YOU IF YOU TRY TO CHEAT THOUGH (HA)!
THE CRY:
WHEN A PLAYER IS ABOUT TO PLAY A CARD TO THE DISCARD PILE, LEAVING ONLY ONE
CARD IN HAND, HE MUST CRY "YUCKY LUCK YOU!" PRIOR TO THE CARD TOUCHING THE
DISCARD PILE. ELSE HE HAS TO DRAW TWO CARDS FROM THE DRAW PILE -- BUT ONLY IF
ANOTHER PLAYER/TEAM CATCHES HIM BEFORE THE NEXT PLAYER STARTS HIS TURN
(TOUCHING THE DRAW PILE OR STARTING TO DRAW A CARD FROM HAND), AND CALLS IT
ON HIM! IN TOMMY'S YUCKY LUCKY YOU!, YOU HAVE TO "ISSUE THE CRY" BEFORE YOU
DISCARD.
TO ISSUE THE CRY:
POINT TO THE "CRY" BUTTON WITH YOUR MOUSE AND CLICK. OR, HIT THE <ENTER> KEY.
TO CATCH THE COMPUTER IF HE DOESN'T ISSUE ITS CRY (YES, WE PROGRAMMED IN A
SMALL PERCENTAGE OF MEMORY LAPSES SO YOU CAN TAG IT):
POINT TO THE "CRY" BUTTON WITH YOUR MOUSE AND CLICK. OR, HIT THE <ENTER> KEY.
GAME AND MATCH:
THE FIRST PLAYER TO GET RID OF ALL HIS HAND CARDS WINS. THE FIRST PLAYER TO
REACH 500 POINTS WINS THE GAME. THE FIRST PLAYER TO WIN 4 GAMES WINS THE
MATCH (BEST OF 7).
THE COMPUTER AUTOMATICALLY SAVES THE MATCH SCORES ON DISK ON THE FILE
"YUCKY.SCR". IF YOU WANT TO ERASE THE MATCH AND START OVER, JUST ERASE THIS
FILE.
SCORING:
THE WINNER SCORES POINTS FOR EACH CARD LEFT IN THE OPPONENT'S HAND, AS FOLLOWS:

YOU CAN SET THE GAME POINT AT THE START OF A GAME TO ANYTHING FROM 100 TO
9999.
THE START-UP:
IF THE FIRST CARD TURNED UP TO FOUND THE DISCARD PILE IS AN ACTION CARD,
HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS:
WILD DRAW FOUR -- IT'S SHUFFLED BACK INTO THE DECK AND ANOTHER CARD IS CHOSEN
INSTEAD (DONE AUTOMATICALLY BY COMPUTER).
WILD -- THE STARTING PLAYER (PLAYER TO LEFT OF DEALER) CALLS OUT A COLOR AND
PLAYS AS USUAL.
DRAW TWO -- THE STARTING PLAYER MUST DRAW 2 CARDS AND PASS.
SKIP -- THE STARTING PLAYER MUST PASS.
REVERSE -- THE DEALER PLAYS FIRST AND PLAY ORDER IS REVERSED. IN THE 2-PLAYER
VERSION THIS IS THE SAME AS A SKIP CARD.
QUITTING:
ON THE KEYBOARD PLAYER'S TURN, HE CAN TYPE "X" FOR HIS PLAY AND GIVE UP INSTEAD,
LETTING THE OTHER PLAYER WIN.
OPTIONS:
WHEN PROMPTED FOR AN OPTION, TYPE "Y" OR "N" WITH THE KEYBOARD TO INDICATE YES
AND NO, RESPECTIVELY; OR USE THE RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON FOR "Y" AND THE LEFT MOUSE
BUTTON FOR "N".
LONG GAME:
WITH THIS OPTION EACH PLAYER IS DEALT HALF THE DECK (52 CARDS ACTUALLY) RATHER
THAN 7 CARDS INITIALLY.
OPEN HANDS OPTION:
FOR DEMONSTRATION AND LEARNING PURPOSES, ALL HANDS CAN BE PLAYED FACE UP.
MULTIPLE DRAW OPTION:
IF THIS OPTION IS SET, A PLAYER CAN DRAW AS MANY TIMES AS HE WANTS INSTEAD OF
JUST ONCE. AND, HE DOESN'T HAVE TO PLAY A DRAW IF HE DOESN'T WANT TO.
REPLAY HAND OPTION:
AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH HAND, YOU HAVE THE OPTION OF REPLAYING THE LAST HAND.
OF COURSE YOU CAN USE THIS TO GAIN AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE ON THE COMPUTER, BUT
THIS IS A TOY AFTER ALL, AND YOU ARE BOSS. (FUNCTION KEY F6 CONTROLS WHETHER
YOU'RE ASKED IF YOU WANT TO REPLAY THE LAST HAND).
FUNCTION KEYS: THESE ARE HOT KEYS, MEANING THEY CAN BE PRESSED AT ANY TIME.
